Bluff House Beach Resort & Marina was the first and is now the oldest resort in the Bahamas’ Out Islands. Bluff House began in the early 1950s as the private home of Pearce and Kitty Coady. As many of the traditional English Victorian and American Colonial homes of its day, it was a wonderful gathering place for a unique mix of interesting and cosmopolitan people. Pearce and Kitty frequently hosted boaters from all over the world who were looking for a comfortable night on land, good company, excellent food and genuine hospitality. Over time, they added to the Bluff House property so they could accommodate more guests eager to experience the stunning Bluff House setting and the Coady’s warm ‘make you feel right at home’ welcoming. Many have described Bluff House as the most special piece of property in Abaco. Perched atop the highest point on the island of Green Turtle Cay in Abaco, Bahamas, Bluff House sits on 12 lush acres of palms and pines with its own private, powder-sand beach.
Bluff House property is easily accessible by boat or ferry from either the Sea of Abaco or White Sound Harbour. The island of Green Turtle Cay is an explorer’s dream with tropical foliage surrounding trails opening to white-sand beaches and small cliffs/bluffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The Bluff House marina offers a 46-Slip Full-Service Marina. From the Sea of Abaco, a well-marked and recently dredged channel (7′ MLW), leads you to White Sound’s entrance. The marina offers clean Rubis fuels and lubricants at our dock. Decked with over 12,000 square feet of Ipe (a Brazilian teak), the marina is designed to allow each boat its own dock space complete with Power, Water, and free WI-FI connections. Step off the docks to the private showers and restrooms as well as a laundry facility with washers and dryers. Relax in the Fresh Water Swimming Pool and lounge the deck overlooking White Sound or lounge on their Private White Sand Beach and enjoy island food and tropical drinks at the Tranquil Turtle Beach Bar overlooking the Sea of Abaco.
Bluff House is the only marina on Green Turtle Cay to have specific “Catamaran Slips.” Offering five slips with a beam of 26 ft. The Bluff House marina welcomes all Moorings and Sunsail Charter yachts to our easy docking slips. For professional or beginning sailors, their dockmaster is always available to lend a hand and help secure your boat.
About Green Turtle Cay
Green Turtle Cay is a vacation paradise for sailors, divers, and fishermen. The island is intimate in size at 3.5 miles in length and 1.5 miles wide and it is located just three miles off the east coast of Great Abaco. Green Turtle is the gem among this stretch of islands with an uneven coastline, deep bays, and pristine, white-sand beaches. It is closest in proximity to the southeast coast of Florida, located 170 miles due east of Palm Beach.
Coral gardens teem with colorful sea life, making for wonderful snorkeling and diving expeditions. Shelling on the powder-soft beaches and offshore sandbars is among the finest in The Bahamas. You can find starfish and sand dollars as you stroll along the shores. Boaters are encouraged to explore deserted islands like Fiddle Cay to the north and No Name Cay and Pelican Cay to the south of Green Turtle Cay.
Green Turtle Cay is a history lover’s delight. Founded by the Loyalists in the 1700s, the historic village of New Plymouth was born of those individuals still loyal to the Crown of England. Easily accessible by rental golf carts, New Plymouth hosts the Albert Lowe Museum, the Loyalists Sculpture Garden, along with many little, quaint bars and restaurants. New Plymouth is unique in that it is a true working Bahamian village. While in the village, be sure to stop by some of the workshops of the local craftsmen, see their work and meet some of the friendliest people in the world.
